You're reading an interview done by MGandhi and FURY through IRC, with a great person on emu scene: RS. He dumped a lot of NeoGeo ROMs and has a good site. If you're a SNK fan, you must read it.
1. What are the games that we can expect dumped soon?
I didn't know I had to live up to expectations... but to answer: likely the infamous KOF99, more redumps, possibly a NON Neo-Geo game that is in GREAT demand, possibly a SPECIAL conversion dump from me, and maybe another VERY RARE MVS game... I don't want to spoil any suprises though! Oh, and I want a RAISE! =)
2 - Where you get the PCBs?
Mostly off the net at places such as http://tuning.com/ to name one. There are lots of them if you search hard enough. I also have a few friends who have provided me with “needed boards” for a few of the redumps that I have done so far.
3 - What's your preferred NeoGeo game? Why?
My fav is Magician Lord- because I'm a side-scrolling action addict !
4 - What do you think about NGPC roms? You expect a NGPC emulator soon?
Well, they are new, and yes they are cheap, so support SNK and buy a
NGPC and some games... their emulation is bound to happen though, so I will
support it and continue the Neo-Geo emulation saga. Believe it or not, I
have been told that a NGPC emulator is "in the works" and *may* surface
fairly soon!
5 - What's your opinion about open source emulators? They’re great! I have many “compiling friends” who spend hours looking
at code and LEARNING from it. I, on the other hand don’t know too much about
compiling, and would love to learn all about it someday when I have the time,
but I’m just too busy at the moment.
6 - Menace asked for remove their NGPC releases because some bitchs in emu scene, you agree with their decision? No... I don't know the "inside story" there, but i think if a site
releases something publically then they should support it, and maintain their
links for downloading their releases. this is why I was quick to offer them
from my page as well.
7 - What's your preferred NeoGeo emulator, MAME or NeoRageX? Why? I'm a MAME guy at heart, but for Neo-Geo lately it's been NeorageX...
hopefully as soon as i get KOF99 redumped correctly NRX will support it,
otherwise a few firneds of mine will be forced to compile a special version
of MAME that will support it! Hell, I'm not redumping it for my health!
8 - You already being in legal troubles because the dumps? The only legal trouble I THOUGHT I was in was from operating my FTP
server from my old page known as NeoGeo Country. I found this out to be
false after some careful investigation, and I have had no problems ever
since.
9 - Some rumors saying that you dumped Pleasure Goal for NeoGeo, is that true? I can tell you that it's NOT dumped..... yet, but who know what the
future holds from me!
10 - You can dump ROMs only for NeoGeo? NO... If anyone wants to send me some other boards to dump that are
"needed," I'll be more than happy to dump and release them! I *may* be doing
one fairly soon, but only time will tell for sure!
